Rick Kathuria
Rick A. Kathuria PMP, CMC, P. Eng. has more than 15 years of professional experience on international projects. He has been working with McCarthy Tétrault, one of Canada’s leading law firms, as head of their IT development group and director of their Project Management Office where he oversees all major IT implementation projects. Mr. Kathuria has spent the last few years working with senior partners of the firm to develop Project Management tools and was responsible for delivering training to lawyers and providing on-going coaching to help them effectively project manage their legal mandates.
Mr. Kathuria also serves in a leadership role directing the implementation and operation of PMI’s (Project Management Institute) global Legal Project Management initiative and is leading their web based training curriculum.
Prior to joining McCarthy Tétrault, Mr. Kathuria spent several years at top tier consulting firms before starting his own consulting firm. His projects included managing multi-million dollar projects internationally as well as the implementation of internal PMOs (Project Management Offices) for several of his clients.
Mr. Kathuria’s educational background includes a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute, a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) by the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by Professional Engineers Ontario. He is also a recipient of the Governor General of Canada’s award for academic excellence.
